Later, Rodney Walker, chairman of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA): snooker’s ruling body: branded the behaviour “unacceptable”, and said that he had apologised in person to the promoter of the tournament. In addition he also sent his “apologies to the people of China for any offence that may have been caused.”
The statement was published on WPBSA’s Web site (www.worldsnooker.com).
He further said: “In my opinion, Ronnie O’Sullivan’s behaviour was unacceptable. The matter has been referred to the WPBSA Disciplinary Committee and is under review.”
