Paula Abdul earned about RM17 million per season at American Idol
Paula Abdul was a judge in probably the world’s most popular reality TV music competition show American Idol for 8 years (2002-2009).
However, on 4th August 2009, after “numerous contract negotiations,” she confirmed that she would not be returning for the 9th season.
It was reported that the reason for this was that she was unhappy that she had been earning only about USD5 million (about RM17 million) per season, and that she was earning less than Ryan Seacrest, the show’s host.
But Paula, RM17 million about RM1.4 million a MONTH! More than most of us will earn in several lifetimes!!!!!
It was reported that she had demanded as much as USD20 MILLION. Whoa, appetite suppressant needed! I mean, that’s a whopping RM70 million: almost RM6 million a month – even more than most of those overpaid EPL footballers!
When “only USD10 million” was offered, she quit and joined another show for an undisclosed fee.
She will be replaced by Victoria Beckham.
