President Obama has assets worth up to USD8 million?
It was reported by the BBC on 17th May 2010 that in 2009, President Barack Obama had:
- a dog: USD1,600
- royalties from his book “Dreams From My Father”: >USD1 million
- royalties from his book “Audacity of Hope”: >USD1 million; total of the 2 could be up to USD10 million
- Nobel Prize: USD1.4 million prize money which he gave to charity
- US treasury notes: between USD500K & USD1 million
- US treasury bills: between USD1 and USD5 million
- College savings plans for daughters: between USD200K and USD500K
- checking accounts
- pension from Illinois state legislature
- sale of securities inherited from granny: USD “hundreds of thousands”
- presidential salary: USD400K per year
In contrast, VP Joe Biden disclosed between USD155K & USD675K in assets.
So, the most powerful man in the world, the Defender of the Free World is not quite a billionaire, but the dosh should be enough to get him some outdoor furniture…
