A good advice that I’ve always remembered is not to overindulge my “feeling poor” state of mind.

If I do things like flipping through shopping catalogues or worse, physically visiting a shopping mall, it will definitely make me feel the irresistible urge to buy things.

Even if I can afford them, I need to remember that the main point is that most of it is beyond my reach.

So instead I do things that make me feel good by providing a sense of well-being, for example, inviting friends over to your place or taking a walk at the park; or do things that increases my knowledge and skill, like reading linx boss reviews, since I’m into internet marketing.

After reading weirdtechnewshub, it dawned on me that truly no idea is a stupid idea. You’ve got to test it out because you never know how it’ll turn out.

The one about Santamail stunned me for its simplicity. Why didn’t anyone think of it before? Byron Reese got a postal address at North Pole, Alaska, pretended to be Santa Claus and charges parents 10 bucks for every letter he sends to their kids. He has sent over 200,000 letters since the start of the business in 2001, which makes him USD2 million dollars richer.

Now, one should seriously consider setting up sites that helpfully suggests ways on how to get rid of acne, that most probably won’t hurt.

According to Choi Tuck Wo in his London Log published in The Star on 22nd October 2009, money may not necessarily be evil but the craving for it certainly seems so.

What we see around us is the power of money – it drives the world.

It is a double-edged sword: can be used to achieve good or bad.

Choi wrote that many street vagrants in London, given a choice, would accept money rather than food.

But money does not buy happiness, for Britons in London at least. The city has everything money can buy but the country is far behind fellow Europeans France and Spain when it comes to quality of life.

Annually, Londoners earn more than GBP10,000 more than the average European.

True happiness comes from within and depends on one’s perception: there are many depressed rich people.

Rich people who need to lose weight can afford to purchase all the weight loss products they need, but once they reach that ideal weight, it does not guarantee them a true and lasting happiness.

The old adage still holds true: true happiness is being in the company of one’s loved ones: friends and family. That can be interpreted as: money’s only worth it if it can be shared in a meaningful way with someone special.

Used car battery lead is the new gold, and is the new target for dumpster divers and thieves alike.

Most of us throw away our used car batteries or simply leave them at the mechanics’ or battery dealers’ premises.

In May 2006 I bought my batteries for RM140. Earlier this month, buying from the same shop, it cost me RM210. The guy said if I came in a little later and the new stock comes in, I would have to cough up RM250.

There has been an increase in the prices of lead on the international market, and used car batteries have lead inside them.

According to The Star’s newsreport:

A senior officer of a car battery factory said the price of lead on the London Metal Exchange had shot up from US$1,600 (RM5,325.82) a metric tonne early this year to US$3,600 (RM11,983) this month.

He said one could sell a used battery from a car at between RM30 and RM40 while the price for a used lorry battery was between RM150 and RM200.

As reported by The Star on 26th Nov 2006:

Malays make up 14% of Singapore’s population (4.2 million)

8.6% of them have poly/university education, compared to 27% for Chinese and 31% for Indians.

Average income for Malays is S$3,400 (RM8,000), compared to the Chinese at S$5,600 (RM13,000) and the Indians at S$5,200 (RM11,000).

According to Association of Muslim Professionals chairman Imram Mohamed, it seems to be getting worse. The reason: “Our community has not responded well to the new economy and they’re not geared to meet the challenges of globalisation and stiff competition.” Looks like it’s the same story, not just in Malaysia.

The solution: change mindset to be more competitive, seizing opportunities available.

Community Development, Youth and Sports Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, said: wage increases and protection from competition were not the solution. The long-term solution remains more education and creating more professionals.

He continued: “For a minority community to do well in a multiracial and globalised environment, we need to engage with other communities and we need to integrate with the mainstream of social life. That’s where you can successfully compete.” Hmm… I think that’s what the Chinese are doing in Malaysia. Now, the Malays in Singapore are in the minority. That would also apply to Kadazandusuns, wherever they are.
