I read in Daily Express today that Mawi could eclipse both Rosyam Nor and Ning Baizura in the acting salary stakes.

Apparently, in his upcoming debut in the film Aduh Saliha, he would be paid RM300,000 plus a share of the box office, meaning it could well go up to RM1 million.

In contrast, current top earner Rosyam Nor earns between RM180,000 and RM250,000 per film. Ning Baizura also earns RM250,000 per film.

I must admit that I did not expect Mawi’s bankability to endure for so long. It’s coming to 2 years since he emerged champion of Akademi Fantasia’s 3rd season.
